Top 5 Carpooling and Ridesharing Apps Performance on iOS in UAE, Q1 2025

In the first quarter of 2025, the carpooling and ridesharing app landscape on iOS in the United Arab Emirates showcased varied trends in downloads and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

Careem – rides, food & more saw a notable increase in weekly downloads, starting the quarter at 8.3K and peaking at nearly 12K by the end of March. Weekly active users fluctuated, reaching a high of approximately 418K in early February before declining to about 323K by the quarter's end.

Bolt: Request a Ride experienced a decrease in weekly downloads from 11.9K at the start of the quarter to around 6.4K by the end. However, weekly active users showed resilience, maintaining a range from 114K down to 76K, with some recovery towards the end of March.

Yango: taxi, food, delivery had a consistent download pattern, beginning at 5.6K and ending the quarter at about 6.5K. Active user numbers steadily increased, starting at 15K and climbing to over 22K by the end of March.

Zed: Book your taxi ride showed growth in weekly downloads, with numbers rising from 3.5K to approximately 4.5K. Active users also increased, reaching nearly 19.7K by the quarter's close.

Finally, Uber - Request a ride experienced some fluctuations in downloads, starting at 5.9K, dipping mid-quarter, and rising to 6.9K by the end. Active users saw a slight decrease overall, beginning at 73K and ending at about 61K.
